Getting to camp
Lee Abbey Camp is in the South-West of England, near Lynton on the north Devon coast, as shown on the below map. There are two main ways to get your child to camp. You can either drive to camp (directions below). Alternatively, if you let us know on the booking form, can pick up your child from Taunton train or bus station on the day that camp starts. You just need to get them to the bus or coach station, we will do the rest. On the day that camp ends, we will get them back to the Taunton bus or coach station where you can either collect them or they can take a connecting train or bus.

Coming by car
(These directions assume you are coming from the rest of the UK via the M5 southbound. For detailed directions from your own home town to Lee Abbey, go to www.rac.co.uk and enter both your home postcode and our postcode EX35 6JJ in the Route Finder.)
Scenic route on smaller roads (including the 1:4 Porlock Hill):
Leave the M5 at Junction 23 (Bridgwater) and join the A38 south. At Bridgwater, take the A39 towards Williton and Minehead, and follow this road for approximately 50 miles to Lynmouth.
At the Lynmouth river bridge, where the A39 goes left, follow the priority to the right and up the hill. After the hairpin bend and a brief steep ascent, take the sharp right to Lynton (Castle Hill).
Follow the road all the way through the village and into the spectacular Valley of Rocks (pictured above right). After this valley you will enter the Lee Abbey Estate and the main entrance is signposted on the right hand side.
Easier route on larger roads:
Leave the M5 at Junction 27 (Tiverton), and take the A361 towards Barnstaple. Just after South Molton, turn right onto the A399 (signed “Lynton”).
At Blackmoor Gate, turn right onto the A39 and continue following signs to Lynton. As you enter the village of Lynton, you will come down a steep hill and round a tight right-hand hairpin bend.
Following this, turn left and then left again (both turnings signed “Valley of Rocks”). The road will go out of the village into a dramatic coastal valley (pictured above right). After this valley you will enter the Lee Abbey Estate and the main entrance is signposted on the right hand side.
Note: Barbrook Fuel Station, 2 miles from Lee Abbey, is open Mon-Fri 7.30-6.00, Sat 8.00-5.00 and Sun 8.30-5.00 (6.00pm all days in summer). The nearest 24-hour station is in Barnstaple.
